When a customer hits a hard email security problem that a normal support ticket cannot fix, someone has to step in for a few weeks and sort it out. That is this job: a floating technical specialist who joins customer accounts when they need it most.

About Abnormal AI

Abnormal AI builds cloud email security that uses behavioral AI to stop phishing and other email attacks. The role sits in its Technical Account Management team.

About the Role

  • Act as a flexible technical resource that Customer Success Managers bring in for tricky or repeated account problems
  • Take on short, project-based technical engagements for customers without a dedicated technical account manager
  • Join investigative and best-practice calls, then decide the right next step
  • Lead hands-on platform reviews, configuration checks and tuning that stop problems from coming back
  • Record session recaps and next steps in the CRM
  • Flag unused features and upsell or deployment opportunities, and share patterns with Product and Engineering

About You

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role, such as email infrastructure, IT security, engineering or technical support, in enterprise SaaS or cybersecurity
  • Solid grounding in Abnormal's platform and configuration best practices
  • Good triage judgment: you can tell when a case needs hands-on help or a senior specialist
  • Comfortable stepping into a customer relationship for a set engagement, then stepping back out
  • Strong communication skills, including with senior customer stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of email authentication and delivery protocols and cloud email platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
  • Experience in a pooled technical resource model, such as professional services or solutions engineering
  • A technical bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience

Abnormal's posting does not list pay or benefits, so ask about them early in the process. Ready to apply? Open the official Abnormal AI job posting.
