This role is open to applicants based in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Poland or Bulgaria. ElevenLabs says the work is fully remote, and you can also choose to work from its offices in London, New York, San Francisco or Warsaw.
If you have heard an AI voice that sounded almost human in an audiobook, a game or a customer support call, there is a fair chance ElevenLabs built the model behind it. Now the company wants another research engineer to make those models better, and it says plainly that it cares more about what you have built than about the letters after your name.

About the Role
You will join the research team and work on the models that power products used by millions of people. The work includes:
- Training state-of-the-art models across any modality
- Pushing existing models further through post-training, data curation, architecture changes and new training methods
- Designing rigorous benchmarks and evaluations that show whether a new model version is truly better, and why
ElevenLabs runs lean, autonomous teams with little bureaucracy, and it does not use job titles internally. It expects every team to use AI to move faster.
About You
- 3+ years of experience in AI, with a focus on implementing, training and improving machine learning models
- The ability to evaluate new ideas on your own or improve existing ML projects, ideally with some published work
- Experience running exploratory research to improve the quality of collected data
- Proof of hard problems solved, such as past projects, designs or GitHub contributions. ElevenLabs does not require formal degrees or certifications
