About the Role
You will join the Platform Engineering team to run, maintain and speed up Fleetio's Ruby on Rails stack and infrastructure. You will:
- Find, triage and fix performance problems across Ruby, Rails and the databases
- Improve observability with metrics, SLOs and SLIs
- Build and maintain AI agents and automations that cut toil in incident response and maintenance
- Lead database capacity planning, upgrades, backups and disaster recovery work
- Write runbooks and docs, and join the on call rotation
About You
- 5+ years of Ruby on Rails experience and 3+ years with AWS
- Kubernetes experience
- Experience profiling and benchmarking code, and spotting performance issues in code review
- Experience with Datadog or other APM tools
- Strong written and spoken communication
Nice to Have
- Experience building AI agents or LLM powered automations, for example with tool calling or MCP
- Terraform
- Strong cloud networking knowledge
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Memcached or TimescaleDB
