This role is remote for applicants based in the United States only. Hex also has office hubs in San Francisco and New York if you prefer to work from one.
Most brand design jobs ask you to arrange logos on a grid. Hex is asking for something different: a designer who makes things, from illustrations and collages to whole campaign worlds, and who can turn a technical data product into one sharp visual idea.
About Hex
Hex is a data and analytics platform that lets people explore data with natural language, with or without code. Customers include Ramp, Figma, StubHub, Anthropic and Gamma. The company has raised more than US$100 million from investors such as Sequoia, a16z, Snowflake and Amplify, and has remote team members across the US and UK.
About the Role
This is a generalist brand design role with a strong lean toward illustration and image making. You will help build the next chapter of the Hex brand inside its existing visual system. You will:
- Concept and design brand campaigns, product launches and creative moments
- Help evolve the Hex visual identity and set new patterns within it
- Develop illustration and graphic approaches that become recognisable parts of the brand
- Design for the web, events, social, editorial, customer stories, swag and physical brand moments
- Build reusable systems and assets instead of solving every brief from scratch
- Art direct illustrators, motion designers and production partners when needed
- Work closely with Product Marketing, Content, Events and Growth
About You
- A brand designer with a portfolio full of strong ideas and well made work
- Real strength in illustration, image making, art direction or another expressive visual craft
- Excellent typography and composition instincts
- You understand design systems but do not think every piece must look identical
- You show work early, explore widely, then refine with intention
- You can work on your own, move quickly and know when something needs perfection and when it just needs to ship
- Collaborative and low ego, with visual interests outside B2B software
What Hex Offers
Hex states a salary range of US$140,000 to US$190,000 (its job board lists US$142,000 to US$190,000), plus equity, comprehensive health benefits and flexible paid time off. Where you land in the range depends on location, level and experience.
Portfolio tip: Hex says it wants people who "create rather than simply arrange", so lead with your own illustrations, concepts and experiments, not just layout work.
