This role is only open to applicants based in the United States. Kraken has posted a similar role for the UK, Ireland, Cyprus and Canada on its own careers site.
Crypto news moves fast, and professional traders and institutions judge an exchange by how clearly it speaks when markets are noisy. Kraken wants a communications manager who can tell the story of its trading and derivatives products to that demanding audience.
About Kraken
Kraken, founded in 2011, is one of the longest-running crypto platforms and says it is trusted by more than 10 million clients. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking and OTC services. Its parent company, Payward, also owns NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks.
About the Role
The role is Manager, Pro Trading and Derivatives Communications, inside the team that runs Payward and Kraken's external communications worldwide.
You will:
- Build and run communications programmes for products aimed at professional traders, derivatives users and institutions
- Grow Kraken's thought leadership with these audiences through clear storytelling on trading, risk and market infrastructure
- Develop a bench of spokespeople and key messages at executive, product and segment level
- Prepare announcements, talking points, media statements, pitches and briefing materials
- Work with institutional partners, trading desks, market data providers and external agencies
- Bring social-first thinking to media relations, especially where traders gather online
About You
- A bachelor's degree and 7 or more years leading communications programmes, ideally in crypto
- Excellent writing, editing and strategy skills, with the ability to explain complex topics
- Experience coaching executives on messaging and interviews
- Experience with a distributed workforce and complex communications challenges
- Experience leading and mentoring communications teams
- Real knowledge of and passion for the crypto industry
What Kraken Offers
The posted US salary range is $96,000 to $192,000. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless the posting states a deadline, and candidates may be asked to complete skills or work-style assessments.
