About the Role
ManTech is seeking a motivated Web Application Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate web-based applications supporting tactical situational awareness and mission operations. You'll build user-facing and service-based applications that integrate with the TAK (Team Awareness Kit) ecosystem, delivering real-time data access, visualization, and decision support to the field.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications supporting the TAK ecosystem, implementing TAK standards and integration patterns
- Build front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks, alongside back-end services and APIs
- Integrate with TAK servers, APIs, and external data sources for real-time and near-real-time data visualization
- Develop applications that function in degraded, denied, intermittent, and limited (D-DIL) environments, optimized for low bandwidth
- Implement application-level access controls aligned with DoD Zero Trust Strategy and NIST SP 800-207
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver systems meeting VAULTIS principles for data visibility and accessibility
- Support CI/CD pipelines and apply Agile methodologies to deliver mission capabilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of web/application development experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks
- Backend development experience (Java, Python, or similar)
- Experience integrating APIs and working with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Experience with Git and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with TAK or similar tactical systems in a large team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting USSOCOM/SOF, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments
- Experience developing TAK applications or plugins, and real-time data processing
- Familiarity with DoD Data Strategy (VAULTIS) and DoDI 8320 data sharing standards
- Active Top Secret/SCI eligibility
Clearance Requirement
Active Secret clearance required.
Compensation & Benefits
$137,100 – $244,100 (final offer depends on experience, skills, location, education/certifications, and contract requirements)

Physical Requirements
- Stationary position ~50% of the time
- Occasional movement within the office (file cabinets, equipment, etc.)
