Orientation starts May 25. Part-time shifts available Monday through Saturday.
ModSquad is adding remote customer support contractors in North Carolina, with phone and ticket projects available now and more coming. The company has been running customer support for brands including Spotify and Vimeo since 2007, so this is an established contractor model with real client traffic, not a startup experiment.
Orientation starts May 25. You have days, not weeks, to apply.

About ModSquad
ModSquad operates as a remote-first contractor platform for customer experience services. Brands hire it to staff support, moderation, and community teams without building those functions in-house. ModSquad operates across more than 90 countries, covering over 50 languages. Its public client list includes Spotify, VSCO, Vimeo, and Tourism Ireland. Most clients stay confidential by agreement.
The contractor model is the point. ModSquad does not hire traditional employees for these roles. You work as an independent contractor. Scheduling is flexible, but you handle your own taxes - factor that into what any hourly rate is worth.
What the Role Involves
This is a phones and tickets support role. You will handle live customer calls and written support tickets for ModSquad’s client projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Answering inbound support calls, helping customers resolve issues with a client’s product or service.
- Working on support tickets, responding to written customer queries through a ticketing system
- Following client workflows, applying written guidelines to handle and resolve customer issues consistently
- Providing clear, friendly guidance, walking customers through product use, or answering common questions
Available hours run Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific (9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern). Shifts are not fixed. The listing states you must be available to take shifts when the project needs people, so flexibility is a requirement, not a perk.
What They Want
Must Have:
- Based in North Carolina (or an eligible US state - see note below)
- Customer service background, ideally with phone support and ticketing experience
- Fluent in English - the listing specifies English as the required language.
- Availability Monday through Saturday within the listed hours
- A friendly, patient tone on calls and in written responses
- A dedicated Windows 10 or higher laptop or desktop
- A quality headset suitable for call handling
- Willingness to install ModSquad’s security software and a two-factor authentication app on your phone
- Open to supervisor feedback and willing to shift approach based on team direction.
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting tech or consumer brand products
- Familiarity with common helpdesk or ticketing platforms such as Zendesk or Freshdesk
- Comfort switching between voice and written support in the same shift.
Note on location: The listing says “NC Remote,” but ModSquad’s standard disclaimer excludes California, Colorado, New York, and Washington applicants. Whether this role is open to all other US states or strictly to North Carolina residents is not confirmed.

Salary and Benefits
No pay rate is listed. ModSquad states that individual rates depend on role complexity, location, and experience. For US-based remote customer support contractor roles, market rates typically fall between $13 and $18 per hour - that is, market context, not a confirmed figure for this role.
As a contractor position, standard employment benefits, such as health insurance, paid leave, and retirement contributions, are unlikely to apply. Confirm the full terms of the contractor agreement, including how and when you get paid, before you start orientation.
Is This Open to Nigerians?
No. The role requires US-based applicants and is listed under NC Remote, United States. It is not accessible to applicants outside the US.
How to Apply
- Go to the direct application link: ModSquad Careers — JR101542.
- Create or log in to your Workday account.
- Complete the application and have a current resume ready, with customer service and phone support experience clearly listed.
- Confirm your hardware meets the minimum specs (Windows 10 or higher, quality headset) before applying; these are hard requirements.
- Orientation begins May 25, 2026. As of publication, that is less than two weeks away. Apply today.
There is no posted application deadline, but the May 25 orientation date means the window to be considered for the first cohort is short.
GizPulse Verdict
ModSquad has a real client roster and has been running since 2007. The contractor model suits people who want part-time remote work without a fixed 9-to-5 structure. The phones-and-tickets combination means you need to be comfortable both on calls and in writing; if you hate one or the other, look elsewhere.
The undisclosed pay rate is the main friction point. Get a specific hourly figure before orientation starts, not during it. The contractor classification means you handle your own taxes. Factor that into what the rate is actually worth before you agree to anything.
Ideal for: US-based customer service professionals in North Carolina who want flexible part-time remote work. A strong bridge role between jobs or a steady side income for people with call centre or helpdesk backgrounds.
One tip: The listing specifically calls out following written workflows and adjusting for feedback. In your application, give a concrete example of a time you followed a strict support script or changed your approach after supervisor feedback. Specifics move applications forward. Generic enthusiasm does not.
